Firstly we need to know what services would Exam be conducted by UPSC CSE.UPSC CSE conducts exam for 21 services which are broadly classified into 3 categories 1.All India Civil Services (IAS,IPS,IFos)
2.Group 'A' Civil Services
3.Group 'B' Civil Services
Ministry of railways consulted UPSC and DoPT Added IRMS services to be conducted by The UPSC from 2023
From past few years UPSC guarantees:
1.Upsc releases the exam Notification every year
2. It's releases the job calendar every year
3.Process takes almost one year from the date of prelims
4.After the announcing results of previous year batch only it further conducts the next batch prelims exam

As i mentioned before,UPSC releases Notification every year. Its takes almost one year to complete the entire requirement process.It basically releases notification on the month of February every year.

1.HOW MANY NUMBER OF POSTS DOES UPSC RELEASES IN NOTIFICATION?
It's releases average of 700 postes every year but with the include of IRMS services it may announce posts upto 1100 every year
2.HOW MANY WILL APPLY FOR THE POST?
More than 13 lakh people apply for UPSC CSE every year
3.WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE POST?
A)BASED ON RESIDENT
i)For ALL INDIA CIVIL SERVICES,
only citizens of India are eligible
ii)For All OTHER SERVICES(A&B)
He must best be citizen of India
(or)
NEPAL Residents
(or)
BHUPAL Residents
(or)
TIBETIAN People who migrated to India before 1962 are eligible
B)BASED ON AGE LIMIT
i)Minimum 21 years of age and maximum age of 32

I will briefly explain the exam pattern and what its consists of
NOTE:Exam will be conducted in offline only
A)PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION:
This is like the elimination round its consists of two papers .Both the papers are Objective type that is OMR based model. For Both the papers,Exam will be conducted on the same day General studies on morning and CAST on Afternoon.All the exams are conducted in offline mode only.
NOTE 1: Paper is in the medium of ENGLISH and HINDI only (this is one of the drawback)
NOTE 2: Marks of the preliminary exam was not consider in the final list of marks
NOTE 3: Only after the correction of CSAT.Only CSAT Qualified member of GENERAL STUDIES paper is corrected

General Studies paper consists of 100 questions each question carries two mark
CSAT paper consists of 80 questions each question carries two and half mark(2.5)
Both the paper has NEGATIVE MARKS of one-third (0.33)
CSAT is just qualifying paper one must need to get 33% of toatl marks
Candidates are Selected only marks obtained on GENERAL STUDIES paper
NOTE: Every year only less than 0.15% of exam appeared qualify for Mains exam(thats is less than 15000)
B) MAIN EXAMINATION:
Paper is Descriptive in Nature.Medium of language will be of any official language must be from schedule eight of constitution .There are toatally NINE Papers In that Two are qualfying in Nature and remaining are based on the merit.The Obtained marks are consider in the final list of marks

PAPER A is a language choosen from the schedule eight of Indian Constitution
PAPER B is a English language
Both PAPER A and Paper B are qualifying in nature on must obtain the 25% of total marks of that subject are qualified
NOTE:After the correction of qualifying papers.If he Obtain qualify marks then only the remaining merit papers will be corrected
NOTE2:Only 0.05% will be called for the interview(that is less than 2000)
INTERVIEW/PERSONALITY TEST:
This is the final state of UPSC CSE. Here the candidates are called for the interview its consists of 275 marks. Its a test of your personality. After the personality test results are announced

5)SYLLABUS OF UPSC CSE:Syllabus of UPSC is so Dynamic and syllabus is open ended we cannot expect the questions .We say just syllabus is only a reference .I will classify the syllabus outline only for the detailed syllabus one must need to approach the Official Website
A)SYLLABUS OF PRELIMINARY EXAM
Paper I - (200 marks) Duration: Two hours
i) Current events of national and international importance.
ii) History of India and Indian National Movement.
iii) Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
iv) Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights
Issues, etc.
v) Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social
Sector Initiatives, etc.
vi) General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require
subject specialization.
vii) General Science.
Paper II-(200 marks) Duration : Two hours
i) Comprehension;
ii) Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
iii)Logical reasoning and analytical ability;
iv)Decision making and problem solving;
v) General mental ability;

B)MAINS EXAMINATION:
QUALIFYING PAPERS ON INDIAN LANGUAGES AND ENGLISH
The aim of the paper is to test the candidates' ability to read and understand serious discursive proseand to express ideas clearly and correctly, in English and Indian language concerned.
The pattern of questions would be broadly as follows;

(ii) Precis Writing.
(iii) Usage and Vocabulary.
(iv) Short Essays.

Indian Languages
